Great Phone especially for the price

    By Ca***n , May 06,2017
    Pros:
    Screen/graphics quality
    Processor Speed
    RAM
    Almost stock Android
    Easy to root
Fast 4G LTE on AT&T network
    Sound (Dolby + Viper4Android = Insanity!)
    Overall Best Buy
    Cons:
    No expandable memory
    No 3.5 mm headphone jack
    Non-removable battery
    Built-in battery relatively small
    Overall:
I'd bought this as a cheap emergency replacement phone, and wasn't expecting much. But this phone is a BEAST. It fully works on AT&T 4G LTE here in the US (just dropped in the SIM with no problems). The graphics quality is impressive; videos look great. And it can handle every social media app out there, thanks to the 4GB of RAM (which usually costs a LOT for us here in the States). Topped off with 64 GB internal storage, this phone is very responsive and fast, and is among the best you can buy at this price point.

Enthusiasm however is dampened a bit by a substandard battery. Given what this phone can handle, a 4000 mah battery would have been a better fit. Also, the LeEco 2 took all the features of iPhone that Android users would hate - that is, no removable battery, no expandable memory, and now the ridiculous practice of having ONLY ONE USB Type-C port for EVERYTHING. So no, you cannot listen to music while your phone charges - which is BAD for those of us who work all day with Spotify or Amazon music playing. I could overlook this if LeTV had provided a splitter (USB-C female and 3.5mm female) to overcome this problem - no such splitter exists yet that I can find. You can put together a workaround of sorts, but why take away the headphone jack in the first place?!

Had LeTV provided a larger battery, and left in the 3.5mm jack and expandable memory, this phone could have CRUSHED mid-range phone competitors.

Still, even with these complaints, I would recommend this phone. The build quality and capabilities make it a great buy.

LeTV LeEco Le Max 2 X829

    By Al***u , March 29,2017
    Pros:
Very good price , a huge opportunity
Amazing quality product, great 2K screen, great camera, earphone sound.
    Cons:
battery life not great, no external memory.
    Overall:
The phone itself is bright, in the hand it sits like a glove, it photographs remarkably, as well as the video in slow motion mode. In the kit there was a charger, the cable itself, an adapter, a silicone case. And a wonderful phone. For a week of testing the phone there were no glitches, no glitches, everything works, there are no censures.

LeMax 2 - One of the best flagships under $200!

    By hw***e , May 23,2017
    Pros:
    Low price
    Great Build Quality
    Very Loud Speaker
    Great Specs
    Beautiful 2K 5,7'' Display
    IR Blaster
    Great Package And Accessories
4G LTE On US GSM Carriers
    A Lot Of Custom Roms
    Cons:
At the end, few other things as a negative that I can list, no 3,5mm headphone jack, which is extremely stupid, no Android 7 and with the state of LeEco as company, probably there will never be. The battery can be bigger, although the 3100mAH are good enough for a whole day use. And some issues with the fingerprint sensor that a lot of people are reporting.
Currently I am running on the custom Cuoco92 rom and its super fast.

    Overall:
The LeEco's LeMax 2 is probably one of the best phones that you can buy under $200, $189 to be exact. Why most you would ask, the simple answer is, just look at the hardware specs, but there is more to it indeed. First of all not only the phone has a flagship specifications, but it really feels like a flagship, it is fast, it is big with a beautiful 5,7'' QHD display, that delivers very good and bright colors, the phone is very well made in all metal construction and is heavy too. If you are a media person that likes to watch a lot of videos and browse the internet on their phone all the time, this is definitely the phone for you, also the loudspeaker is one of the best I have heard on any phone, it is loud and clear, maybe all those sound improvements and certificates like Dolby HD and Atmos are playing a factor here.
The LeMax2 comes with EUI, LeEco's own version of Android, which is build on top of Android 6.0.1, but the phone is extremely easy to play with and install other custom roms, which makes it even better.
Snapdragon 820 is still one of the best SOC's out there and paired with 4GB of DDR4 ram and 64GB UFS 2.0, really delivers a snappy performance.
If you live in the USA, please read the below information:
Back at the second part of last year when LeEco were planning their entrance to the US market, they were preparing a version for the LeMax 2 specifically for the NA customers, this is the version with a model name X829. Although the X829 has all the GSM and CDMA radios necessary to cover all major US carriers, including Verizon, things a little bit different in reality. My main carrier is Verizon and after me doing a quick research and having previous experiences with other brands, I decided to buy it with the intent to use it on VZN. Long story short, it did not work the way I was expecting, upon SIM card installation, I immediately got 4G LTE and the speeds were great, but sadly voice and text were not working (services that are still carried over CDMA) no matter what I did, I couldn't get them to work, I even made a trip to the Verizon store and asked to see if they can whitelist my IMEI, again no go.
So my theory is that, back when LeEco wanted to enter the market, they approached all the US providers to ask for permission to use their networks with internationally unlocked phones like the LeMax 2, but Verizon shot down their enthusiasm and denied their request and ultimately balcklisted their IMEI series, so now you will not be able to use any of their phones on the VZN network!
So if you are planning to buy the LeMax2 please keep in mind that you will only be able to use it with GSM carriers in the US, such as ATT, T-Mobile, Cricket, Straight Talk, Walmart Family, FreedomPop etc.
