Cool specs and great news regarding the XBMC support, even if it is only by using a beta build. At least the trend is positive.
I, for one, am keeping my fingers crossed that Tronsmart or any of the other reknown manufacturers, release a box (with ext. wifi antenna, ethernet port and IR remote) based on the same PCB design as the T428. Have never been fond of the stick design with all the wires and dongles dangling around 🙂

Could you please provide more information about the AP6330 chip. I coundn’t find any infomation on the internet (even on the official Broadcom page). It is very good that bluetooth is v4.0 but what is the wifi tx/rx rates – 64Mbps, 150Mbps or something different.

What is outcomming resolution? 1080p or 720p?
Boxes have their advantages, but I like the stick form factor. I don’t like any boxes under displays (amps, cable, etc.). These sticks hide completely behind my TVs so less ugly wires and boxes to look at.

I have a craig cvd601 hdmi stick rooted with a cfw working great now but i have to use droidmote server on it while my nexus 7 runs sixaxis and droidmote client to control my craig cvd601. this creates too much lag 🙁
Ahora, it is still 720P scale to 1080P, sin embargo, i am sure it will get fixed with firmware upgrade later, because i have seen other RK3188 mini pc which is base on real 1080P OUTPUT. I WILL also introduce that one later.
so since they base in the same chip, i am sure T428 will also get 1080P update.

AP6330 is the newest from Broadcom, and can support 5ghz wifi frequency, we have tested with a 5ghz router and it can connect without problem.

i buyed one today from italy. thanks for your test. i love DroidMote, I was just waiting for the quad core, and I’m very happy that the wifi module also support 5Ghz. with 5Ghz we can have dedicated channel for wifi direct.
Does it support USB to ethernet? I don’t see an ethernet selection under networks. I have an RK3066 based stick and use a USB to Ethernet which works fine.

Bluetooth is slower than wifi. This mean that a controller over wifi can be faster if the wifi module is good. If you have a controller that work over TCP/IP connection, you can connect it over wifi and over Bluetooth. Yes you understand well, every remote controller app that work over wifi, work also over bluetooth. Just activate the function Bluetooth tethering, connect the second device to the first and you have a tcp/ip connection over bluetooth. In this mode every app that work over wifi can work also over bluetooth. The lag that you speack about, is caused from rk3066 wifi module defective.

Anyone having any luck rooting this? I tried the linked method but can’t get past installing the usb drivers.
Already enabled usb debugging on the T428
but does it matter which port we connect it to the pc with? When I try connecting it to the pc through the full size usb port on the T428, the pc acts like nothing was plugged in. The T428 powers on, since its getting power from the usb, but nothing new pops up or shows up in device manager.
If I try to connect it through microusb (fuerza) port on the T428, the pc recognizes it, tries to install a driver, doesnt find one, so then I point it at the downloaded drivers linked in the Root Guide, but it says it cant find any drivers in those folders.
Just got my tronsmart t428 2 days ago im very happy with it!I have no idea how to root it please help im not to tech savey.i want to use the app droidmote with it thanks!

Hello all, I have purchased this unit and love it. Sin embargo, here in the states I cannot get netflix to work. All I see is scrambled video, my other TV sticks work fine. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Thanks for the help!
The rom 4.1.1 on T428 work a thousand times better than the 4.2.2 memoria de sólo lectura
el 4.1.1 rom is the original stock rom from Rockchip. El 4.2.2 is a fake, is the old 4.2.2 for MK808

Have you tried pairing a Bluetooth key board with this? In settings it says paired but does not take any inputs from the keyboard. Any help on this is really appreciated.

An update on the bluetooth keyboard issue I had. The stock firmware (4.2) i couldn’t get the BT keyboard working. It pair with the device but noting happening afterwards. I tried the 4.1 firmware and the BT keyboard (and the touchpad mouse) worked on the first try. However on that, xbmc is crashing on every time i open it (this is the xbmc 13-alpha2 that supposed to be working according to this blog). Desde, XBMC is the primary thing for me, I reverted back to 4,2. Now i have working XBMC but not the BT keyboard. 🙁

Another thing, the people who got the device, has anyone able to run the antutu benchmark on this? everytime i run it, it crashes the device (in every fw that i tried).

Geekbuying should let you know about the video shutters that seems to be a kernel issue. Because Rock Chip wont release the source code, I believe this issue is s deal breaker as it does not pay to not allow the community to help fix the issues that rock chip clearly is ignoring !
I’m guessing you mean video _stutters_. y si, it would be good with an acknowledgement from geekbuying that they have taken this to RockChip. Or at least something saying that they haven’t found the issue (if they haven’t).
Does not recognize wired internet connection. Using KY-AX88772ALF usb adaptor. When i connect it i can see the blue light but no interet connection. I can’t even connect my apple wireless keyboard and mouse. I am running Tronsmart t428 Finless ROM 1.4. If there are special settings for that please explain them step by step because i have tried every possible option on my both T428 dongles.

Sí, they can. It all depends on the tv. If it is able to supply enough amperage through its USB port, your fine. There have been succesful reports on some tvs, and also the opposite.
