Tronsmart just release the offical Android 4.2 firmware for their promethues model.
Here is the changelog for new firmware:
1 Nuevo androide 4.2 Jelly Bean Firmware;
2 Come with rooted;
3 Add DLNA function;
4 Add smartphone control function; (if you want to use this function, you should make sure your smartphone and Tronsmart Promethues are in same network,and you should install this app in your smartphone: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0jq1vf7trx5lxb4/RC_Client.apk?m and run this app when you use the smartphone control function)
5 Sloved XBMC audio sync problem;
6 Internal storage increase to 2GB

You can’t use other XBMC version, because this one is custom made for Promethues, and will support real 1080p hardware decoding!
Update instruction:
If your Tronsmart promethus has already been in the Android 4.2 firmware beta, then you should just do as following:
1. Open the download folder;
2. you will get below 5 archivos.
3. Put these 5 archivos (don’t open zip file) in root of your SD card, then follow below upgrading method,
(1) Use a paperclip inserts to press the reset key which is at back side of the Android TV Box and hold it;
(2) Power on the Android TV Box (connect the AD adapter with device), wait for blue Led flash 3 times then release reset key;
(3) System will automatically upgrade. (Make sure power is not interrupted during the upgrading process); screen will still show no siginal when you are doing upgrade, pero no te preocupes, it is normal!
(4) Device will be reboot after upgrading. (Check the software version in setting-> about media player. You will see it).
if you are still in the Android 4.1 firmware, and want to upgrade to this android 4.2 firmware, you should do as following:
1. Open the download folder;

Won’t flash on my Promethues. When using the button/power on method it won’t exit the “blank screen” phase. Tried to us the upgrade application (I’m on Android V4.2 Beta) and got a “Assert g18ref ….” failure.
Is there several different HW revisions out there?

Is your promethues in android 4.1 or android 4.2 before you do the flash?
I’m on the last release from you. Android V4.2-Beta published here 2013-03-09
When looking at the download, el 2013-03-08 release has a file called “g02ref-ota-20130308.zip” and the new one has a file called “g18ref-ota-20130513.zip”. Discussions at a UK distributors website suggests that “g02ref” y “g18ref” is two different hardware revisions.

Read my lips “Fix the Bluetooth” y “Fix the SD Card Reader” so that it can read cards bigger then 2 Gigs and “Fix the Flash” so that more google play games can actually work on this device.
I will take it you tested bluetooth on the new firmware without success. Waht about fhe custom rom…did anyone test bluetooth on that?
