This method is tested and working with Intel’s USB3.0 controller under Windows 8.1 x64.<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Download Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_MOD.zip<\/a> and extract it.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Reboot windows with driver signature disabled: configure->change pc settings-> update & recovery -> recovery-> advanced startup -> troubleshoot -> advanced options -> restart -> 7

\n3.<\/strong> Open Windows Device Manager, Go to Universal Serial busses at the end and double click \u201cIntel USB 3.0 eXtensible controller\u201d. Click on Drivers in the New window which opens.
\n
\n4.<\/strong> Now click \u201cUpdate Driver\u201d and then select \u201cBrowse my computer for driver software\u201d. Next choose \u201cLet me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer\u201d and select \u201cHave Disk\u201d.
\n
\n5.<\/strong> In the Window that pops up titled \u201cInstall From Disk\u201d choose \u201cBrowse\u201d and navigate to location \u201cIntel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_MOD\\Drivers\\Win7\\x64\u2033. Select “iusb3xhc.inf” and click ok. Ignore all warnings and install the drivers.

\n6.<\/strong> After installing, Reboot the computer with the same procedure as Step 2.<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Open Windows Device Manager again, you should see an Unknown device.<\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> Right Click on it and choose \u201cUpdate Driver\u201d then click \u201cBrowse my computer\u201d and then \u201cLet me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer\u201d, scroll down and select \u201cUniversal Serial Bus Devices\u201d.<\/p>\n

9.<\/strong> Click next, choose \u201cHave Disk\u201d, \u201cBrowse\u201d and select the “iusb3hub.inf”. Ignore all warnings and install the drivers.<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong> Reboot your PC as normal.<\/p>\n
