Using a CO2 laser cutter isn\u2019t quite the same as working with a Silhouette or a Cricut. If you\u2019ve found something else you are interested in laser, read what it is made from, then Google the materials. For me, that\u2019s a good enough reason to keep the area immediately around the machine free of clutter.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Invest_In_A_Fire_Extinguisher_And_A_Spray_Bottle\"><\/span>Invest In A Fire Extinguisher And A Spray Bottle<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You should keep a fire extinguisher near your Sculpfun for the unthinkable. I also have a small spray bottle filled with water to put out minor flare-ups. I\u2019ve never had to use the fire extinguisher, but I did have a flare-up when cutting cardboard. The spray bottle doused it quickly.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wear_Protective_Eyewear\"><\/span>Wear Protective Eyewear<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget that if working with a class 4 laser \u2013 like the Passthrough slot on the Sculpfun Pro \u2013 you\u2019ll need to protect your eyes. You only get one set of eyes \u2013 take care of them.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There\u2019s one honorable mention that didn\u2019t make the list: it\u2019s modifications to your machine. While I know that many do it, modifications to your laser cutter that aren\u2019t recommended by Sculpfun put your safety at risk.
