The “Creality Filament System” (CFS) bears a strong resemblance to the popular Bambu Lab AMS, but with added temperature and humidity, indicators to complement the “sealed design” which will be particularly beneficial in humid environments. Apart from this, the features of the CFS are quite similar to Bambu’s previous model: it utilizes RFID technology for filament identification (presumably limited to Creality’s own brand), and each CFS unit can accommodate four filament spools. Additionally, multiple CFS units can be combined, allowing for a total of up to 16 different materials to be used.<\/p>\n

Creality Debuts New Printers, Multicolor Units, Scanners, and More
\nThe new K2 Plus 3D printer features a 350 mm cubed build volume, linear rails, a die-cast frame, active chamber heating, strain gauge auto-leveling, 30,000 mm\/s2 acceleration, and FOC closed-loop motors. It will be equipped with Creality’s newly announced Apus direct extruder, capable of reaching temperatures up to 350 \u00baC and offering a 66% higher flow rate compared to the previous design. The extruder also includes hardened steel gears with a DLC coating for durability when printing with carbon-fiber filaments. Additionally, the printer comes with a filament cutter for convenient and reliable filament changes.<\/p>\n

The printers are set to operate on Creality OS, which will soon have an open-source version with the Ender 3 V3. They are said to utilize “Edge AI technology”, including an error-detecting camera and “AI model blending”. It seems like Nexa3D’s recent AI April Fools joke may have had some truth to it. Interestingly, Creality states that these AI services will not require internet connectivity. Processing on the K2 Plus will be done locally on the system’s dual-core CPU and 32 GB eMMC, which will likely be well-received by critics of Bambu Lab’s connectivity requirements.<\/p>\n
The standalone K2 Plus and CFS combos will be available for purchase worldwide on July 31, 2024. However, if you are interested in the CFS for an earlier printer in Creality’s K series or the recent Ender 3 V3 3D printer, you’re in luck. Creality has announced that upgrade kits for CFS compatibility will be available during its anniversary Livestream.<\/p>\n
Anycubic has also teased a “multi-color 3D printing breakthrough”, indicating increased competition in a popular hardware segment that has been dominated by Bambu Lab, especially after AnkerMake’s multi-material attempt failed earlier this year<\/p>\n
