{"id":7647,"date":"2013-05-28T10:23:58","date_gmt":"2013-05-28T02:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.geekbuying.com\/geekgiz\/?p=7647"},"modified":"2013-05-28T10:26:36","modified_gmt":"2013-05-28T02:26:36","slug":"tronsmart-mk908-quad-core-tv-stick-android-4-2-finless-custom-rom-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.geekbuying.com\/geekgiz\/2013\/05\/tronsmart-mk908-quad-core-tv-stick-android-4-2-finless-custom-rom-coming\/","title":{"rendered":"Tronsmart MK908 Quad Core TV Stick Android 4.2 Finless Custom ROM Coming!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, guys, BOB is really fast in making custom roms, love him, \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>This custom rom is based on the newest android 4.2 stock rom for <a title=\"Tronsmart mk908\" href=\"http:\/\/www.geekbuying.com\/item\/Tronsmart-MK908-Google-Android-4-1-Mini-PC-TV-Box-RK3188-Quad-Core-2G-8G-BT-Black-315155.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tronsmart mk908<\/a> we release yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the changelog:<\/p>\n<p>1) Rooted and new SU and Superuser applied that supports Android 4.2.2<\/p>\n<p>2) Stock ROM was only 2 Gig of APP space.<br \/>\nBUT you also have parameter file options!<br \/>\nThere are also 1gb, 2gb, 4gb and 6gb options.<br \/>\nRead below for how to change that in the flash tool.<br \/>\nRealize if you use this 6gb option, internal SDcard will only have about 600 megs of free space!<\/p>\n<p>3) Debloated of junk APPs and Google Apps you can get from Google Play.<br \/>\nI also updated Google Play to the latest version along with standard APPs.<\/p>\n<p>4) As always, full init.d support! If you do not know what that is&#8230; ignore it. For geeks that want to use it. It is there!<\/p>\n<p>5) I re-enabled location services. This is now in the settings menu.<br \/>\nTested and working with all APPs that use it.<br \/>\nRemember to turn off GPS as we have no GPS.<\/p>\n<p>6) I also re-enabled accessibility options in settings.<\/p>\n<p>7) Gameloft fix. This fixes Gameloft games from crashing to the desktop.<br \/>\nMany of them do not run and crash to the desktop. This is due to a license check based on the device.<br \/>\nSpecial thanks to Christian Troy for inventing this fix. I modded it for this ROM.<\/p>\n<p>8) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say &#8220;not compatible&#8221;.<br \/>\nI am spoofing a Samsung device that will show almost any APP as compatible.<br \/>\nYour device will show up in google play as Samsung device not a MK908 or RKSDK! Understand this please.<br \/>\nI also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.<br \/>\nIf you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old<br \/>\nThen rename build.orig to build.prop.<br \/>\nGo into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.<br \/>\nReboot! You should be back to showing up as a MK908<\/p>\n<p>9) RK Mirroring is enabled as always.<br \/>\nAlso new to Android 4.2.2 is Wifi display.<br \/>\nIf you have another 4.2.2 phone or tablet you can share your devices screen on your TV.<\/p>\n<p>10) Remote Control using RK Remote APP is now fully supported!<br \/>\nIn the ROM kit is a RKRemoteControl.apk.<br \/>\nNOTE: This is a NEW version and will not cause your TV stick to crash.<br \/>\nSo if you have already installed RKRemote before you need to un-install it and re-install this version!!!!<br \/>\nYou install this on your phone or tablet and now it can remotely control your TV player!<br \/>\nJust put the APK on sdcard or something and install it on your Android phone, tablet, etc.<br \/>\nENJOY this one! I had a HARD TIME getting it to work!<\/p>\n<p>11) I added a reboot APP that will allow optional reboot options like reboot to bootloader (flash mode).<\/p>\n<h1><a
