Questions & Answers
FAQ
1. What are the key differences between the N1, N1 Pro, and N1 Ultra?
The key distinctions lie in their resolution and brightness. The N1 is a portable 1080P lifestyle projector, rated at 800 CVIA lumens, designed to be effortlessly carried with just one hand. The N1 Pro enhances the picture quality with a higher brightness of 1,500 CVIA lumens and native 1080P resolution. As the flagship model of the lineup, the N1 Ultra offers premium visuals at 4K resolution and 2,200 CVIA lumens.
2. What is CVIA Lumens?
The CVIA Lumens refers to the latest brightness standard set by the China Video Industry Association. It specifies the measurement of brightness with a color temperature ranging from 6000K to 18000K, and the color deviation value (DUV) should not exceed ±0.015, based on a 9-point testing of the white field.
3. Have you measured the ANSI brightness?
Yes, we have measured the ANSI brightness of the N1 Ultra, N1 Pro, and N1, which are 4,000 ANSI lumens, 3,200 ANSI lumens, and 1,200 ANSI lumens, respectively.
3.1 Why did you use the CVIA standard rather than the ANSI standard?
The test condition of the ANSI standard often fails to reflect the projector’s performance in actual application scenarios. Under the condition of extreme light output power and not considering color accuracy, the white field's maximum brightness can reach 4000 ANSI lumens, which is the highest brightness of the product. The testing scenarios include projecting at a distance of 1.5M, turning off the auto keystone correction, autofocus, and eye protection functions, and 9-point testing of the white field without controlling the color temperature and color coordinates. Please note that the projection image under this test condition does not meet the actual user experience.
4. How do the N1 Series projectors handle the "rainbow effect"?
The Rainbow Effect is a common phenomenon in single-chip DLP projectors, especially in older and cheaper models. JMGO's self-developed MALC Triple Color Laser Optics effectively deals with the Rainbow Effect. However, it's worth noting that some users may still experience this effect as sensitivity to it varies among individuals.
5. How do the N1 Series projectors handle laser speckles?
The MALC laser engine employed in these projectors utilizes an innovative LSR module to reduce speckles caused by interference between RGB beams. This module adjusts the passing laser beam with adaptive amplitude and frequency through a high-speed vibrating diffuser along the XY axes. By increasing randomness and suppressing interference, it achieves a remarkable 96% reduction rate of laser speckles.
6. How do the N1 Series projectors handle color/chromatic dispersion?
Chromatic dispersion is a common challenge faced by all triple-color laser projectors, including the N1 Series. To ensure an optimal viewing experience, we recommend using a dedicated screen.
7. Can you tell me more about the MALC laser engine?
JMGO has dedicated over two years to developing the MALC (Microstructure Adaptive Laser Control) Triple Color Laser Optics. In addition to offering an ultra-wide gamut coverage and strong brightness, which are shared features of triple-color laser projectors, the MALC Triple Color Laser Optics stands out by effectively reducing laser speckles by 96% and achieving 95% brightness uniformity. As a result, the projected image not only appears bright and vivid but also presents crystal-clear details.
Another advantage of the MALC laser optics is its compact size, which is 40% smaller than competing laser engines in the market. This smaller size contributes to a lower production cost, allowing customers to enjoy a triple-color laser projector that is both compact and affordable.
8. Are the N1 and N1 Pro compatible with 4K contents?
Yes, both the N1 and N1 Pro support 4K videos. However, the resolution will be downgraded to 1080P when playing such content.
9. Can I turn off the MEMC feature to avoid the "soap opera effect"?
Yes. You can choose to turn off the MEMC function manually or adjust its level to your preference.
10. Do the N1 Series projectors offer a color management system?
Yes, the N1 Series projectors provide a color management system that allows users to adjust various color parameters. These parameters include contrast, saturation, hue, sharpness, gamma, and color temperature. Additionally, a color tuner and 11-point white balance correction function are available for advanced calibration of hue, saturation, brightness, and white balance.
