A laser engraver is useful if you want to customize items, make gifts, or create small production runs at home or in a workshop or as a small business. The Falcon A1 Pro is Creality’s newest enclosed machine, and it is also the first in the Falcon series to support an optional 1064nm infrared laser module for engraving metals like brass, aluminum, and tool steel. This expands the range of materials beyond what was possible with previous Falcon lasers, where in regard to metals, only stainless steel or anodized surfaces could be marked.
The A1 Pro has a 20W blue diode laser as standard, suited for cutting wood, cardboard, and acrylic, and for engraving on a wide variety of organic materials. The optional 2W infrared module swaps in using a quick release, and this is what makes it possible to engrave bare metals directly. This is an important step for anyone looking to add metal marking into their projects.

The machine is fully enclosed, which provides both safety and cleaner operation. The Class 1 certification means it meets workplace safety requirements, making it an option not only for hobby use but also for small businesses that want to add engraving to their services. An exhaust port on the back allows you to route the smoke outside through a window with the included hose, or if that’s not possible, connect a fume extractor for cleaner indoor use, which Geekbuying also offers as a kit with the A1 Pro.
The Falcon A1 Pro is designed so beginners can use it right away. It comes mostly assembled, with a touchscreen interface, built-in Wi-Fi, and an overhead camera for positioning designs. Jobs can be sent over the network and started directly from the screen, or with the free Falcon Design Space software available on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. This means you can work from a phone or tablet as easily as from a computer, but also have the option to use professional software like LightBurn with it.
For round objects, the machine supports a rotary kit. The adapter cable needed for the rotary is already included with the A1 Pro and plugs in easily on the side. By removing the bottom panel and placing the engraver on extension feet, taller objects like tumblers can be engraved as well. Both roller-style and chuck-style rotaries can be used, making it possible to engrave anything from rings to drinkware.

In testing, the 20W diode laser handled cutting plywood up to around 9 mm, as well as engraving cardboard, leather, and acrylic. The infrared module engraved aluminum, coins, and steel tools easily. Glass can also be engraved if prepared with a coating. Adding a honeycomb bed such as the Mecpow H43 helps improve cut quality.

The Falcon A1 Pro is positioned as a safe and versatile engraver that works for both hobby projects and small business use. With autofocus, enclosure, camera, and Wi-Fi already included, there is less need to buy extra parts to get started. And with the option to add the infrared module for direct metal engraving, it covers a wide range of possible applications, from personalized gifts to small production batches.
