Applying the same form factor as the AM2 variant with some minor tweaks, Ugoos UM3 turns out an Android stick-PC rather than a full-sized streaming TV box. This allows the unit to be more compact.
It is based on the Rockchip RK3288 platform known for a maximum clock speed of 1.8Ghz, including in its cabinet the Cortex-A17 quad-core CPU and the embedded Mali-T764 3D GPU, thanks to which UM3 transforms itself into more of a full-fledged nini pc extraordinaire than a basic media player.
On top of carrying the 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of storage, it gives access to dual band b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity together with a Micro card reader for an extra 32GB storage extension.
And while your average media box might only accept a few types of files, this gadget plays just about everything you could throw at it, from music MP3, WMA, and lossless WAV, OGG, FLAC, unprotected AAC for starters to 1080p and 3D files.
