Q1: PS2 emulation is crucial to me. Should I choose the Pocket 4 or opt for the Odin 2 and pay an additional €80 to €100 for it?

A: The Odin 2 has noticeable input lag, whereas the RP5 has incredibly low latency. This is often attributed to the LCD on the Odin 2 and the OLED on the RP5. Additionally, ghosting is another common issue with the Odin 2.

The Odin is quite large, but the RP5 is in a different category altogether. The Steam Deck and Odin Portal serve similar purposes, but the Steam Deck offers more functionality beyond just emulators and Android games. The RP5 is better suited as a portable companion device that can easily fit in a jacket pocket or small bag. 

If flawless PS2 emulation with minimal tweaking is a priority, then the RP5 is a solid choice. However, it does have limitations and may need configuration changes for certain games. While it offers good performance, ghosting and input lag are notable concerns.

Of course, they both offer good value for money. 

Q2: While I may not fully understand the technical aspects of how these things operate, perhaps it could be considered to have the black bars for non 16:9 content blend in with the color of the device itself ?

A:  OLED displays are known for their 'true black' capabilities, making them ideal for screens. When displayed on a black glass device with matching bezel and screen colors, the black bars can effectively disappear. If the bars show any other color, they may not perfectly match and could be distracting. While it may not be a bad idea in theory, a black OLED screen on a black device would likely achieve the desired effect more seamlessly.

Q3: Should I upgrade even if I have an Retroid Pocket 4 Pro?

A: Its an upgrade in every way and its worth it 

Q4: Is it bad that I'm getting this solely for GBA emulation and below? All of the comments about poor stick placement and questionable PS2 performance, and I'm just excited for good fast forward emulation for Pokemon ROM hacks on an OLED?

A: Low-end game consoles such as the Anbernic RG35XX are experiencing membrane issues where the buttons are puncturing through. The new RP5 and OLED screen are too enticing to resist.
